SIVIK, led by Clark Rinehart and Molly Grace, is operating as the space manager for 79*West. Both Clark and Molly have experience in the small business ecosystem and have operated collaborative spaces in the Triangle. Along with the 79*West staff, SIVIK will be charged with ensuring that the members and greater Chatham entrepreneurial community have the support they need to grow thriving businesses.

Sheryl Waddell is the Director of Innovation Hubs and Economic Development at Innovate Carolina UNC Chapel Hill. Sheryl works with the designated Economic Development Strategy Chairs, University leadership and external partners to identify, develop and maximize partnership opportunities in community and economic development that support the University’s strategic plan. The initiative includes creation and deployment of an Innovation Hub, Innovation District and Venture Support Services to positively impact the social and economic growth within the community.

Innovate Carolina is UNC-Chapel Hill’s department for innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development that provides a full-scale hub designed for today’s problem solvers: innovation-minded faculty, students and community partners who use their ingenuity to nudge the world forward. Our programs and services help Carolina innovators and entrepreneurs launch startups and create market-ready technologies, products and services. By helping these problem-solvers move more inventions and valuable ideas into the world faster, we make the greatest social and economic impact possible.

Directions: 79 Degrees West is located at 367 Freedom Parkway, in the same building as the Greek Kouzina restaurant at the center of MOSAIC Chatham Park. Our main entrance faces our convenient parking lot, which can be found between the gas station and the building. You can enter through the doors facing the lot, next to the colorful benches.
