SUMMARY:Farm to Fork Picnic
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Center for Environmental Farming Systems\, the Farm to Fork Picnic will return to Fearrington Village in Pittsboro on June 4.\nThis event is a celebration of our local food community and will feature many of the area’s best-known farmers and chefs paired together to create delicious bite-sized dishes highlighting the bounty of the season. The picnic will also feature local food artisans\, beverage producers\, live music and fun activities for families. Bon Appétit magazine has called the Farm to Fork Picnic “the country’s best all-you-can-eat feast!”\nThe Farm to Fork Picnic is not just a food event\, it is also a fundraiser for agriculture and food system training programs at CEFS. CEFS’ Sustainable Agriculture Internship and Apprenticeship programs inspire and equip a new generation of farmers and food system leaders to grow North Carolina’s local food system. Eighty percent of former CEFS interns reported that they have worked in sustainable agriculture and/or food systems since completing their internships.
