Virtual L&L – The Serverless Approach to the Edge
March 3, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The future of edge computing is serverless. In turn, Peer-to-Peer has come a long way since SETI and Napster—and it will lay the foundation for IoT.
Peer-to-peer computing or networking is a distributed application architecture that partitions tasks or workloads between peers. Peers are equally privileged, equipotent participants in the application. Trying to force-fit Kubernetes is also not the way to operationalize edge computing.
EDJX is approaching a solution more sustainable. They are talking about a new model that Kubernetes cannot fulfill – not taking a cloud native approach and trying to apply it to an edge model.
This Lunch & Learn will be led by James Thomason. James is the CTO and Co-Founder of EDJX, the intelligent edge computing platform for real-time IoT, M2M, and mobile apps. His diverse technology expertise includes distributed systems, large-scale infrastructures, and IoT. Previously, James was the CTO of Dell Cloud Marketplace and Dell Active System Manager. A Silicon Valley entrepreneur for over 20 years, James has served in technical, product, and executive leadership roles at over a dozen startups.
