Virtual Developer Month – Week One Session
September 2, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

RIoT is crafting our popular Developer Day event into a virtual month-long event series! Join us every Wednesday, 9am-1pm EST, during the month of September for FREE half day interactive workshops.
This week’s session focuses on IoT Trends. Join to hear from:
9:00-9:30am – Wake Technical Community College:
Join Dr. Keith Babuszczak, Provost of Computer Technologies at Wake Tech, for a virtual tour of their cutting-edge IT facilities at the RTP Campus (including Cybersecurity and Cloud Infrastructure labs) and a sneak peak at what’s planned for their second building on the campus.
9:30-10:30am – Arrow Electronics:
As IoT Technologies mature, various wireless technologies have emerged as clear leaders enabling the next generation IoT platforms. Suppliers of technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, LoRa and LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi and LTE Cellular all have responded by releasing next generation Semiconductors, Modules and Modems that will successfully enable the next wave of faster, better and cheaper IoT solutions. Join to explore the latest hardware products that have emerged and how to successfully integrate them into your next generation IoT products.
10:30-11:30am – Aurora Group & PUI Audio, Inc.:
Hey [Virtual Assistant], what is the temperature outside? The current trend is to use voice activation or audible signals as a touch-free human interface for equipment and devices. As there are many options to choose from, join this session to discuss design considerations and architecture for speakers and microphones in typical applications.
11:30am-12:30pm – DNA Group:
Join industry veteran and DNA Group Solutions Manager, Tim Sweet, to discuss sensor trends and strategies. Measuring/sensing the boundary between the digital world and the real world is the role of the sensor. And not just one sensor, but typically multiple sensors within a single device. Combinations and packages abound and often these off-the-shelf devices do not meet your needs cost effectively. Tim will showcase current sensor trends and explore when and how to transition to a custom sensor device.
12:30-1:00pm – Networking:
REGISTRANTS WHO ATTEND WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN A SET OF SLEEP HEADPHONES WITH BLUETOOTH 5.0 WIRELESS 3D EYE MASK! THOSE WHO ATTEND ALL FIVE SESSION WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN A TCL 43 INCH 4K ULTRA HD SMART ROKU LED TV!
