Sustainable Lawns and Alternatives
April 16, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Even though many of us dream of the perfect lawn, the climate in the Piedmont certainly doesn’t make it easy! Come learn tips and trick for keeping a more sustainable lawn, as well as environmentally-friendly lawn alternatives.
Join Ashley Troth (Extension Agriculture Agent) and the Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Durham County and learn how to make the most of your lawn area. Participants will learn how to evaluate site conditions and select appropriate turf species, manage soil fertility based on soil tests, minimize lawns to only areas where they are used, and incorporate multiple practices to reduce or eliminate pesticide use.
This class is part of the Bull City Gardener Learning Series, a program of Durham County Cooperative Extension, and is open to everyone.
