Season Extension and Intro to Cover Crops

October 24, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Learn how to plant your fall vegetable gardening and what you can do now to protect your soil in the coming winter.

With a little bit of planning you can grow and harvest veggies all year long. Learn when which plants to begin with, and which to plant at the end of the summer for fall and early winter harvest.

Even if you’re not planning on growing a cool-season garden, it’s still important to protect your soil. In the second half of class we’ll talk about how to select cover crops for maximum soil benefit.

Join the Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Durham County and Ashley Troth (Extension Horticulture Agent) to learn gardening tricks and tips at the Briggs Avenue Community Garden.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Parking is available along the street, and please bring your own chair. There is a limit of ten people per class.

Masks and social distancing are required until further notice.

This class is part of the Bull City Gardener Learning Series and is open to everyone.
