Making and Using Vermicompost to Improve Soil Health

Have you heard of vermicomposting? Learn how to use the natural functions of worms to recycle food scraps into nutrients for plants.

This session will be presented by Rhonda Sherman, NC State University’s compost and vermiculture expert. Rhonda Sherman is the Director of the Compost Learning Lab at NC State University where she has been teaching vermicomposting and composting for 29 years. Rhonda gives 50 presentations annually and has authored over 65 publications. Her latest book is The Worm Farmer’s Handbook by Chelsea Green Publishing.

Learn how to effectively use earthworms and microbes to transform organic waste into vermicompost that will make your soil and plants healthy. Plant growth and yields will increase and plant diseases and pests can decrease with the use of vermicompost.
