What is the 1789 Student Venture Fund?
The 1789 Student Venture Fund is a fund that provides students at UNC Chapel Hill with the necessary seed funding needed to explore new venture ideas and test and launch commercial startups at their earliest stages. The average grant amount awarded is $1000.
Who should apply?
- Undergraduate and graduate students at UNC-Chapel Hill who have an existing venture or novel idea and a passion for pursuit
- Students who have completed some market research and customer discovery and can discuss how these findings support their idea
- Ventures or ideas who have a compelling need for funding in order to take the next step
What can the award be used for?
Students can use this grant to fund app and website development, customer discovery, prototyping and concept testing, licensing fees, venture-related travel and events, advertising and marketing campaigns, supplies, or publishing fees, etc.
When should you apply?
The application will be open from 2/3/22 until 2/14/22.
